The date of the meeting is Monday January 14, not December. I apologize for the mistake.

Subject: In person fumigation training and testing Monday
In-Person Applicator Training- A new label requirement for fumigant applicators
Monday December 14, Gulf Coast Research and Education Center
14625 CR 672 Wimauma, FL
8:00am to 5:00pm (or until exams are completed)
As most of you know, as of Dec 1, 2012 certified applicators will not be able to use the following fumigants with phase 2 labels without first completing and passing required fumigant training: methyl bromide, chloropicrin, metam sodium/metam potassium, and dazomet. You must pass four “core” modules and a module for the active ingredient you plan on applying. Once you have passed, your certification is good for three years. The EPA has required registrants to provide this training and it is available online at the addresses below. However, we will be facilitating a local, in-person training and testing to assist applicators. This in-person training will be administered and sponsored by AmVac, the registrant for Vapam and Kpam. Therefore, this will be the only active ingredient module to be administered at the meeting.
If a person needs assistance with completing the first four modules and will be applying other active ingredients, he/she should be able to continue training with the appropriate registrant. Please let us know if this is the case when you arrive. It is crucial that attendees bring a photo ID and their RUP license to the training.
Please call or e-mail Crystal at (941)722-4524 or crys21@ufl.edu to RSVP
Lunch will be served courtesy of Mike Herrington, AmVac
Four RUP CEUs are available in Soil and Greenhouse Fumigation.
