International Conference on Urban Forestry and Arboriculture - Tampa

On March 18th and 19th, the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), Florida Urban Forestry Council (FUFC), in cooperation with the University of Florida IFAS and the University of South Florida along with numerous sponsors will host a joint meeting and research symposium on the economics of proactive and strategic urban tree management at the Patel College at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL.

Titled, “The Cost of Not Maintaining Trees,” this event will bring together leading researchers and innovating practitioners from North America, Europe, and New Zealand for two days of public presentations. It is the seventh themed symposium/summit spearheaded by the ISA Science and Research Committee (SRC) since 2007. The symposium will explore the value trees provide as part of urban green infrastructure, quantify the costs associated with poor urban forest management practices, and examine the potential benefits that can be reaped from proper planning and maintenance.

The presenters were selected to include a wide range of expertise and include Federal/university researchers, urban foresters in major metropolitan areas, private consultants, and utility managers. A more detailed account of the education sessions can be found in the attached flyer.

Please share this unique opportunity with your colleagues and associates.

thanks, Rob
