Everyone here at the Program for Resource Efficient Communities (PREC), along with many co-authors and reviewers from across Florida, has been working under a grant to update existing and/or develop new fact sheets on the topics of energy, water, and climate for the Florida Energy Systems Consortium (FESC) (http://www.floridaenergy.ufl.edu/). These fact sheets are housed on the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Service’s (FDACS) My Florida Home Energy website (http://www.myfloridahomeenergy.com). From the top navigation bar go to the “STEP 3: FIND HELPFUL SUPPORT” tab in the body of the home page and click “Energy Education Library.”
This website was developed for the mobile device user in mind. As such, hyperlinks are “live” so that an individual can click on an underlined word or phrase within a fact sheet to find more information or go directly to the source of the content. This format will also make it much easier for broken links to be fixed and material to be updated in the future. Note that while the fact sheets are printable, our main concern was to make the content as interactive as possible. Where EDIS documents have been updated and used as the basis for a fact sheet, links are included to same.
The website has more to offer than fact sheets, so take a few minutes to explore and use the entire site. We hope both you and your clientele will benefit from our efforts.
Sincerely,
Kathleen Ruppert
P.S. For your convenience, I’ve attached a pdf listing the fact sheet titles by author. Note that new, i.e., 2015, fact sheets are listed in bold type.
