Subject: Farmers' Market Training for Managers and Vendors (November 9, 2015)
Good Afternoon,
I am writing to let you know about upcoming one-day workshop for Farmers’ Market Vendors and Managers, ”Best Practices at Farmers’ Markets - Improving Food Safety and Market Growth” scheduled on November 9th, 2015 from 9:00 to 4:00 pm at Straughn IFAS Extension Professional Development Center in Gainesville, FL. For clarification, this is a training for general public/clientele, not in-service training.
This workshop is intended to provide the farmers’ market managers and vendors with information on current food safety issues associated with farmers’ markets, best food safety practices at both farms and markets, and state regulatory requirements for cottage food products and farmers’ markets. In addition, this workshop will provide information on farmers’ market consumer trends and strategic planning for marketing. The target audience is Florida farmers’ market managers, vendors, and any farmers and cottage food operators who are interested in selling their food at farmers’ markets. The registration fee for the course is $40 (If registered after Oct 31st, the fee will be $50). Registration includes course material, lunch, coffee breaks and parking. Please register early, as course size will be limited to the first 35 registrants due to the room capacity.
Attached is the flyer for the workshop and the registration form (for mail-in). You can register through Eventbrite site (http://tinyurl.com/FarmersMarketFoodSafety) or by sending the form with the payment.
Please share this information with clientele in your county/district, including farmers’ market managers/vendors, cottage food operators and small farmers who consider their products at farmers markets.
If you have any question, feel free to contact me.
Thank you very much,
Soo Ahn
