The incumbent serves as the National Invasive Species Council (NISC) Secretariat's Senior Scientific and Technical Analyst. NISC was established by Executive Order 13112 (EO 13112; Invasive Species Executive Order). The Department of the Interior, Office of Policy, Management and Budget, has responsibility for providing administrative and staffing support to the NISC Secretariat. Following priorities, guidelines, and strategic plans established by the Executive Director, the incumbent ensures effective day-to-day leadership and coordination of the scientific and technical activities necessary for the NISC Secretariat to implement its duties in a timely, credible, and highly effective manner.
