Programs for 2017 (so far) Worker Protection Standards Train the Trainer. January 23, 2017. 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Lake County Extension Center. New rules require all trainers to be re-certified. On-line registration Private Ag Pesticide Applicator License - review and exam. March 8, 2017. 8:00 a.m. - noon. Exams administered after lunch. On-line registration CEU Day for pesticide applicators will be June 1 at the Lake County Extension Center. Details on registration later. Other local pesticide applicator classes. Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training. April 20. Lake County Extension Center. The course will provide a foundation of Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) and co-management information, FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirements, and details on how to develop a farm food safety plan. On-line registration. This class is a more advanced class for those who already have experience with the Food Safety Manual. We are planning a starter class for those needing to create a food safety manual - Farmer Food Safety Training- Building Your Own Farm's Food Safety Manual in June. Please let me know if you are interested in the starter class rather than the this class. I am planning a Farm Safety Day in October, a Winter Weather School in December, and I am working on a Blueberry Chill Hour Accumulation using FAWN program. Field Days are in the works as well. Please let me know if there are other programs you would like me to provide. I will be having an Advisory Committee meeting soon to help in determining needs.
