Newly revised Efficacy of Herbicide AI Against Aquatic Weeds

Please see the newly revised UF/IFAS Extension publication, Efficacy of Herbicide Active Ingredients Against Aquatic Weeds (2018), by S.F. Enloe, M.D. Netherland, W. Haller and K. Langeland of the University of Florida/IFAS Center for Aquatic & Invasive Plants.

Table 1 shows the effectiveness of 7 fast-acting (i.e., contact) herbicides for control of 40 aquatic weed species.

Table 2 shows the effectiveness of 11 systemic herbicides for control of 40 aquatic weed species.

Table 3 shows the effectiveness of 6 contact herbicides for algae control (macrophytic, filamentous and planktonic). Currently there are no systemic herbicides for algae control.
