We need an Aquatic Pesticide Applicator Position filled as soon as possible:
Aquatic Technician position is open for application of aquatic herbicides in ponds and lakes using boats, backpack sprayers and ATV’s. Technician needs to be able to identify nuisance and native vegetation, treat the nuisance species with herbicides or remove vegetation with mechanical or manual methods as required in wetland mitigation and upland areas. Certification as an Aquatic Pesticide Applicator is desired but not necessary. Work hours are from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday through Friday.
Applicants must be in good physical condition, able to lift and carry 50 pounds, willing to work outside in and around water (ability to swim included), and have a working knowledge about maintenance and repair of small engines and pumps. Requirements include a minimum High School diploma or GED, a clean driving record, transportation to and from work, and drug free (drug test required). A two or four year degree in environmental science, biology, wildlife, forestry or related field is preferred but not required. Salary based on experience and education.
