Food Safety Update for Fruit and Vegetable Growers
When: Tuesday, May 24, 2016; 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Where: Manatee County Extension Office
Palmetto, FL
Two new Food Safety Rules under the Food Safety Modernization Act, the Produce Safety Rule and the Food Safety Preventive Controls Rule that affect all fruit and vegetable growers, harvesters, packers, and processors were released in 2015 and start to be implemented later this year. Please join us for a Food Safety Update to review these two rules, and how to prepare for their implementation.
Registration is $25 online, and $35 at the door (check only made out to Manatee County Friends of Extension).
Participants will receive lunch, a certificate of attendance, and binder of materials (Note: This is not the official Produce Safety Training. Official training will not be available until fall of 2016 or later).
