On Tuesday September 13, 2016, the MidSouth Aquatic Plant Management Society will hold an aquatic applicator workshop during the 35th annual conference in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This event will provide a recertification opportunity for individuals certified as aquatic pesticide applicators in the MidSouth and surrounding regions. The morning session will include a 90 minute boat tour of Henderson Lake, which is located in the western portion of the Atchafalaya Basin. Participants will experience first-hand invasive species, beautiful landscapes, and learn about current management efforts to control giant salvinia, hydrilla, water hyacinth, and other problematic aquatic species. During the afternoon session, a classroom setting will utilized for several presentations focusing on plant identification, chemical control, biological control, and pesticide safety. For more information on the workshop, please visit http://www.msapms.org/ or contact Christopher Mudge (Christopher.R.Mudge@usace.army.mil).
Thank you,
Chris
