Laurel Wilt confirmed to infect silk/scrub bay

Here is an update from Jennifer at the Lake Wales Ridge State Forest:

I just wanted to get the word out that laurel wilt has now been confirmed to infect silk bay (Persea humilis, FL scrub endemic). It has been confirmed in Highlands county (see link) and on the Seminole SF and last week I believe I found one infected tree on the Arbuckle Tract of the Lake Wales Ridge SF. It has not been positively confirmed on the LWRSF yet but the dying silk bay had beetle bore holes in the trunk, black streaks when the bark was peeled back, and was very close in proximity to infected red bays. Samples were sent to Gainesville for testing. Could you please send an email out to the CISMA so people know laurel wilt is infecting silk bay.
