Hi All,

There is a Continuing Education Unit opportunity next week on Thursday May 31st for anyone needing CEUs for renewal of a pesticide licence, especially those holding any category of PCO. Last Call CEUs offers CEUs in the following categories:

2 Core
2 General Household Pests
2 Lawn and Ornamental
2 Termite and Wood Destroying Insects


CEUs are available Ala Carte - get only what you need or all.

This event is hosted by the Florida Pest Management Association and will take place at the UF/IFAS Hillsborough County Extension Service from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm.

The next Green Industries Best Managment Practices (GI-BMP) Training and Certification exam at the UF/IFAS Hillsborough County Extension Service will be on Thursday July 12 from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm. This training and certification is required for all commercial companies (for hire) applying fertilizer to urban landscapes and includes those working for government entities. This program offers pesticide license CEUs.

Hillsborough, Pinellas and Manatee Counties and the City of Tampa have Fertilizer Use and Landscape Management Ordinances currently in effect.

Fertilizer Use and Landscape Management Ordinances, along with the GI-BMPs are designed to reduce non-point source pollution from urban stromwater run off and leaching. Improper landscape management practices, over-irrigation and improper fertilizer applications contribute to non-point source pollution.
