Student Scholarships for the 2012 FSHS Meetings

Student Scholarship Program

Florida State Horticultural Society

The FSHS Student Scholarship Program is again being made possible by a generous anonymous donor to encourage greater participation by students in horticulture and related fields in the Annual Meeting of the Florida State Horticultural Society. The Society has matched this donation. Up to ten, $300 scholarships will be awarded to students attending the Annual Meeting. Scholarship checks will be awarded during the annual business meeting; awardees must be registered for the meeting and present to receive their scholarship check.

To apply for a scholarship, applicants must submit a statement of 100 words or less describing the importance of attending the FSHS Annual Meeting to the achievement of their personal and professional goals and aspirations. The FSHS Board of Directors will judge the submissions and verify that applicants are registered in a university horticulture or related program and that the winning applicants register for the Annual Meeting within 2 days of receiving notice of their award.

Submissions must be sent by email to fshs@fshs.org with subject line: FSHS Student Scholarship Application. Please include with your submission: institutional affiliation, mailing address, phone number(s), and e-mail address. Submission via e-mail attachment in Microsoft Word is preferred. Entries must be received by May 23, 2012 and the scholarship winners will be notified by May 28, 2012.

Please visit www.fshs.org for additional information about the society, the Annual Meetings, and other programs.
