#MyFarmBill: help us communicate!

Tomorrow at noon [Friday], USDA will be initiating a Twitter chat using the hashtag #MyFarmBill to discover what the Farm Bill means to people.

Even if you don’t use Twitter, we would like to help you participate in this conversation.

Please email Robert Wells (rhwells@ufl.edu) examples of what the Farm Bill means to you, how it affects your life, or other ways it impacts you or the people in your community. We will share your examples through the UF/IFAS Twitter account. Please try to keep your examples short (Twitter has a 140 character limit) and feel free to provide a web link if available.

If you are on Twitter, please use the hashtag #MyFarmBill in your tweets to participate.

Thank you for your help, and we strongly encourage you to participate. Please share this information with your constituents as well.

Here is more information from the USDA about the #MyFarmBill discussion:

Rural America faces a number of modern challenges today – from a declining population to diminishing job growth. To create new opportunity in rural areas and revitalize the rural economy, the Farm Bill is more important than ever.

Earlier this year we launched a #MyFarmBill campaign, asking people all over the country to share their own stories about what Farm Bill programs mean to themselves and their communities. You can see their stories here: http://storify.com/USDA/calling-ag-supporters-share-what-s-at-stake.

On Friday, November 15 at noon, @USDA will take to Twitter to ask YOU questions about YOUR ideas and success stories on how to strengthen communities, stimulate economies and jobs, and grow opportunities in rural America.

We’ll be using the hashtag #MyFarmBill, so follow along and help us tell the story of these crucial programs, and their importance creating a sustainable infrastructure for our nation’s rural communities.

Please see a list of the questions we'll be asking below and feel free to queue up your answers in advance. You can help us by spreading the word and drumming up interest with your own audiences.
