o   And always more!

o   Meet in the Discovery Nature Center in the staff offices- when you walk in the main door, pass the information desk and walk straight down the hallway to the last door on the left (or ask at the info desk).

·         Fall Weed Count update from Brendan Myers: The Heartland CISMA recently participated with four other regional CISMA organizations in the First Annual Fall Weed Count.  The count was focused on finding previously unidentified occurrences of Cogon Grass and EDRR species relevant to the different regions.  For the Heartland CISMA region we focused on the recently identified EDRR species of Praxelis clematidea.  We were unsuccessful in locating any new occurrences of Praxelis but did locate and identify several new occurrences of Cogon Grass.  These new occurrences were then uploaded into the EDDMaps database.  Hopefully there will be further Weed Counts in the future and we look forward to increasing the participation in those future counts!

·         Free Florida Chapter of The Wildlife Society membership: for new members http://www.fltws.org/renewjoin/

·         New IFAS Assessment web site and database is livehttp://assessment.ifas.ufl.edu/  Features 800+ species, easily searchable by common or scientific name, and results can be filtered by origin, conclusion, tool used, growth form, etc. Read more about the need for it: http://www.miamiherald.com/opinion/op-ed/article4056218.html
