Center for Landscape Conservation & Ecology seeking Research Coordinator

We are looking for an energetic person to add to our team to coordinate research, outreach and education projects in the Center for Landscape Conservation and Ecology. Please apply or encourage others who might be qualified to do so.

 

 

Job Description:

This full-time position is responsible for coordinating outreach and education projects and research activities associated with the Center for Landscape Conservation and Ecology. This position will coordinate timelines, writing and editing, project deliverables, faculty communication, and fiscal aspects of projects and grants.
40% Coordinate outreach and education projects as well as special projects with faculty. Develop horticulture education programs including online extension programs. Outreach projects include book writing and development, app development, short courses, symposiums, annual report coordination, and other projects as assigned. Coordinate revenue generation and fiscal aspects of projects. Assist with project implementation and management, including maintaining databases and project management timelines, scheduling and participating in meetings with project team personnel and stakeholders and providing action recommendations to the project and Center director.
25% Coordinate research project plans and implementation strategies forCLCE. Work in concert with the CLCE Director and contributing faculty to identify, clarify, and monitor progress on research goals, activities, and accomplishments. Review and synthesize research reports on issues addressed by the Center and provide recommendations for Center response. Work with Center faculty and the Director to prepare research briefs and issues analysis briefs for distribution to Center audiences. 
25% Write and edit proposals, literature reviews, website content, and research documents. Contribute to the development and execution of grant proposals including writing pre-proposals and white papers to promote issues. Assist in publication of research and in writing grant reports and summaries. Accumulate support information from project personnel and collaborators. Interact with CLCE Information Office on a daily basis. 
10% Interact with outside funding agencies, faculty employed by collaborating institutions and other individuals involved in the collaboration on research projects funded in the department, respond to requests for information, keep track of relevant forms and files. Attend conferences to collect and synthesize relevant research findings and also report Center research.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Horticulture program development and writing experience preferred.
