2)      Heartland CISMA!!!! It is time we have a meeting to hear the latest about invasive exotic animals in our area and find out what we’re each doing and what opportunities are coming up!!

When? July 31st

What time? 1:00pm

Where? Circle B Bar Reserve – CLASSROOM (Which is the 3rd building)

WHO? Heartland CISMA

GUEST SPEAKER!!!! Tessie Offner-

Tessie is a Non Native Species Biologist for FWC and has a BS in Biology from the University of Tampa. She has been with the agency for one year but she has been working with wildlife for almost 10 years!  Before joining FWC she was an educator for the Florida Aquarium while finishing school. At UT she worked for two years under Dr. Todd Campbell on the Argentine black and white tegu.

What We Plan to Discuss:

•             New NFWF/Wells Fargo grant to TNC and what it means for the Heartland CISMA (hint: we’re going to have an Exotic Pet Amnesty Day)

•             Two new problems? EDRR priorities and should we revisit already (questions about Praxelis clematidea and downy rose-myrtle)

•             Biocontrols: air potato beetle project and Lygodium moth and how you can get them or, if you’ve got them, how are they working for you?

•             Upcoming projects: grass ID workshop? Okeechobee Forest Stewardship Program workshop

•             Upcoming funding opportunities: next year’s CISMA grant and FLEPPC education grant- what would you like to see them used for?

If you have any questions just let me know, also if you plan on attending also let me know so we have a head count!!

Thank you,
