Longleaf Pine Forest Tour in Volusia County

Volusia County Longleaf Pine Restoration Tour

 

WHAT:  Workshop tours private landowner’s restored longleaf pine forest to show how he accomplished restoration, combats cogongrass, manages wildlife, improves recreational opportunities and how others’ can get assistance to do the same.  

 

WHERE:  Yulee Tree Farm, from US Hwy 17 in Pierson, FL travel east on E Washington Ave in Pierson. This is the only stoplight on Hwy 17 in Pierson. Travel about 2 miles on E Washington Ave to Yulee Tree Farm’s west entrance. Forest Stewardship Tour signs will show the way.

WHEN:  March 20, 9 a.m.-noon

               

WHO:  Landowners, managers and others interested in longleaf pine forest restoration and management.  Presented by Florida’s Forest Stewardship Program.  Partners include U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resource Conservation Service, Florida Forest Service, University of Florida / IFAS, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
