10:45-12:15 p.m.        In the field – scouting and diagnosis of crop health problems

2:20-3:00                     Using a microscope and hand lens to diagnose crop health problems

The purpose of the workshop is to provide training in the identification of key arthropod, disease, and weed pests of Florida horticultural crops, and diagnosis of nutritional and other horticultural disorders.  The workshop will provide hands-on training with live specimens in the field and laboratory.  Information on managing crop health problems and on resources available through UF/IFAS will also be provided.  The instructors for the workshop are Dr. Nathan Boyd, Dr. Bielinski Santos, Dr. Hugh Smith, Dr. Gary Vallad (GC REC), Gene McAvoy (Hendry County Cooperative Extension), Crystal Snodgrass (Manatee County Cooperative Extension) and Alicia Whidden (Hillsborough County Cooperative Extension.  The workshop is designed for growers, scouts, crop advisors, extension faculty, Master Gardeners, and other crop protection professionals.  CEUs and Crop advisor credits will be applied for.

March 11, 12: Core and Private Applicator Training and Exams

Core 10am-12pm June 11, Private 10am-12pm June 12, Manatee County Extension Service, Palmetto, FL.

Two separate exam prep classes will be held to help you prepare for the Core and Private Applicator RUP license exams. Exams will be offered immediately following the classes. However, you do not have to take the exams the same day.  You may schedule a time to take the exams at your convenience.  You may take one class without the other, if needed.

If you are already a license holder, 2 CEUs in Core and 2 in Private are offered for both classes, respectively. Light snacks will be offered.
