Tourist Development Council

Polk County Tourist Development Council’s primary objective is to increase overnight stays in Polk County accommodations and enhance the county’s economic climate. The TDC and subcommittees hold public meetings year-round. The full meeting schedule is listed on VisitCentralFlorida.org/TDC  and CentralFloridaSports.com.

Florida State USPSA Match
Date: Friday, January 10 – Sunday, January 12
Venue:
Universal Shooting Academy, Frostproof
- This premier shooting match features action pistol shooting at its finest at Universal Shooting Academy and will showcase the top shooters in the state with over 250 competitors expected to compete.

Raging Races Resolution Run II
Date: Saturday, January 11
Venue:
Lake Parker Park, Lakeland
- Participants will run through the beautiful scenery of Lake Parker Park in Lakeland and will conquer challenging obstacles along the way.

Lakeland Winter Sectional
Date: Saturday, January 11 ­– Monday, January 13
Venue:
Beerman Family Tennis Complex, Lakeland
- The City of Lakeland will host the Lakeland Winter Sectional, a USTA Florida sponsored and sanctioned tennis tournament featuring only the top-ranked players in the state at the Beerman Family Tennis Complex.

FYSA ODP – State Pool Training 97-99
Date: Sunday, January 12
Venue:
Lake Myrtle Sports Park, Auburndale
- The Olympic Development Program (ODP) is an essential program inside of the Florida Youth Soccer Association that is designed to identify national team players early at the youth level and to provide development opportunities for these potential national team players.
- This ODP session is State Pool Training for players born in 1997-1999.
