Call for Board of Director Nominations

From our Executive Director

I want to thank you for your continued support of the Florida Agritourism Association. Without it, we would not have been so successful in passing meaningful legislation over the past few years.

FATA is growing. It is now time for you, the members, to elect a Board of Directors.  We are accepting nominations for seven Board members. The nominations are open to all current, paid members who operate an agritourism operation in Florida. We encourage you to self nominate if you wish. A copy of our Bylaws are attached here.  The nominating form may be found on our website, on the operator's side, or by going here. Nominations will close on July 13th.

Voting will run from August 8th through August 26th and we will be sending out an email to remind you to do so. We encourage all members to vote! If your dues are not current, please visit our website www.visitfloridafarms.com and renew today. Let your voice be heard as we continue to help you expand our agritourism industry in Florida.

We are planning our first Board of Directors meeting for the first week of September 2016 in Central Florida. Please make plans to attend!

Meet our Conference Keynote Speaker

Tuesday October 11, 2016

at the Jackson County Agricultural Complex
Marianna, FL

Meet our Keynote Speaker
Farmer and Author Richard Wiswall

Richard Wiswall has been a farmer for 35 years. He runs Cate Farm, a certified organic farm in Vermont  and is author of "The Organic Farmer's Business Handbook."

Read the interview we did with him recently. In his words, his work on farm profitability "is about shining a light on their farm business, about understanding where the money is coming and going."

"Ultimately a farmer's only job is to make sure that the farm survives; if you can't make payroll then it's over." Richard said.  Keep Reading here!

In addition to the keynote speech, Richard will lead a Practical Workshop called "Farm budgets Made Simple"

Early Bird Fee is $40 before September 5
