Colleagues,

Service is a core value of who we are as a land-grant university. We embody this by giving innumerable hours of service to our campus, state, nation and world. We are especially committed to the fight against hunger, with many teaching, research and Extension programs focused on combatting food insecurity locally and around the world.

On November 9 we will host the 2017 CALS Day of Service in partnership with RISE AGAINST HUNGER to provide students an opportunity to serve others. We will stock the shelves of the Alan and Cathy Hitchcock Pantry on campus, and package more than 25,000 meals for those in need.

Last year I challenged IFAS Faculty and Staff to provide 5,000 meals, and you answered by generously providing 7,419 meals! I know my IFAS colleagues can provide at least 10,000 meals this year!

GIVE NOW

  • 1,000 meals = $290
  • 500 meals = $145
  • 100 meals = $29
  • 50 meals = $14.50

Please make your gift today and join me in supporting our students, campus and neighbors around the globe as we RISE AGAINST HUNGER.

Thank you and Go Gators!

Elaine Turner
Dean
