Palm School - Oct and Dec

Greetings,
For the new agents, "Palm School" is the 2 day program that covers everything the palm team knows about palm management. This started as an in-service training and has expanded into a program that is attended by nursery growers, landscape professionals, arborists and now landscape architects.

BUT, the program still serves as an in-service training for agents and their support staff - i.e., the program is FREE for agents and their support staff. The $300 per person charge is for everyone else, not for agents and staff. And, you can attend as many times as you want to - every year if you would like. We want you to know what we know so you can help your clientele.

Attached is the announcement for the next program, which will be at the Lee County Extension office in Fort Myers on Oct. 30-31. I would appreciate it if you would inform the appropriate clientele of this program, especially if you are located on the west coast of Florida. If you or your support staff would like to attend, please let me know ASAP. You can always cancel, but I would like to be sure to reserve your spot.

After Lee County, the next Palm School will be at the Fort Lauderdale Research and Education Center on Dec. 5-6. I will send an announcement for that program after Labor Day. But, if this location and date works better for your schedule, again, let me know as soon as you can.

I am also attaching the latest "Useful Palm Books and Web Sites", which is mainly a compilation of all the EDIS documents on palm management, pests and diseases. FYI, Tim Broschat is busy revising the EDIS pubs on individual palm species, which will have links to the other EDIS pubs on nutrition, diseases and pests for that particular palm species.

Have a great Fourth of July!

Cheers,
Monica
