Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training. April 20. Lake County Extension Center. The course will provide a foundation of Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) and co-management information, FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirements, and details on how to develop a farm food safety plan. On-line registration. This class is a more advanced class for those who already have experience with the Food Safety Manual. We are planning a starter class for those needing to create a food safety manual - Farmer Food Safety Training- Building Your Own Farm's Food Safety Manual in June. Please let me know if you are interested in the starter class rather than the this class.
I am planning a Farm Safety Day in October, a Winter Weather School in December, and I am working on a Blueberry Chill Hour Accumulation using FAWN program. Field Days are in the works as well. Please let me know if there are other programs you would like me to provide. I will be having an Advisory Committee meeting soon to help in determining needs.
