On behalf of a team of engineers and scientists from the University of Florida, Carnegie Mellon University, Cornell University, John Deere, and Southern Gardens (our collaborative citrus grower), I would like to invite you to attend a field day entitled ”Advanced Mechanization Technologies for the Citrus Orchard of Tomorrow”. This unique field day will be an excellent opportunity to see up close the latest mechanization technology in the area of autonomous tractors, yield prediction, VRT spraying, and disease detection. The field day is demonstrating the progress of this team during the second year of a three-year project entitled “Integrated Automation for Sustainable specialty Crops” funded by the USDA and John Deere as well as a disease detection project funded by Citrus Research and Development Foundation (CRDF). The field day is scheduled from 8:00 -1:00 a.m. on Tuesday Nov. 16th at the Southern Gardens Devils Garden Groves in Clewiston, FL. More details about the field day can be found in the attached pamphlet. Please RSVP by Nov. 9th if you plan to attend.
