New feeds for fish-from fish:
An ARS scientist in Alaska and his collaborators at the Oceanic Institute are busy turning discarded fish parts-heads, tails, skin, bones and even internal organs-into fish feeds good enough to tempt shrimp and the fish called "moi" that was once reserved for Hawaiian royalty. (10/6)

Good news for farmers who grow Bt corn-and those who don't:
A group of agricultural scientists reported in the Oct. 7 issue of the journal Science that corn that has been genetically engineered to produce insect-killing proteins isolated from the soil bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) provides significant economic benefits even to neighboring farmers who grow non-transgenic varieties of corn.
