This video looks at some common tree flaws (some natural and some due to BAD pruning) and how to prune
to help a tree not break apart in a high wind event. A new acronym is coined, "Say no to GTO!" No Gutting, no Topping and no Overlifting!
The term "Gutting" is used to describe the stripping (removal)of the smaller branches along a main branch. A "hurricane-pruning" malpractice often used by drive-by, tree hackers. Overlifting is when the lower branches are removed. Hope you find this helpful to share with other landscapers and clients!
