Many District properties feature new information in the kiosks. Visitors can view maps, property details and facts about the District. Trail maps also are available now featuring global positioning coordinates. A list of District properties can be found on the Recreation page.
And while exploring District properties this fall, snap a photo and win a Get Outside! prize pack. Just upload a photo to Instagram of any District property tagged #GetOutsideFall2012. Each photo uploaded between now and Dec. 20 will be entered into a drawing for a prize pack. Complete details can be found on the notes tab at the top of our Facebook page.
The District will hold a series of feral hog hunts starting this month to alleviate negative impacts from the hogs. An invasive species, the hogs negatively affect wetlands and other habitats by "rooting" up the soil while searching for food. Some District properties temporarily will close during these hunts. A list of scheduled hunts and other information is on our Hog Hunt page.
