Upcoming Programs and Reminders

Opportunities below may be of some interest:

Agricultural Commodity and Policy Outlook Conference Webinars are a series of on-line discussions of economic topics of interest to Florida Producers such as labor supply, commodity focus and markets for our products taking place on November 13 &15.  Follow the link below to obtain further information on the webinar Agendas for each of the three sessions and how you can participate from your computer.

Central Florida Weather Watch is gearing up for the 2012-13 season.  Considering that the AgroClimate forecast for the next three months is for a “Neutral” Climate Phase and that the majority of catastrophic freeze events in Florida since the late 1800 have occurred on “Neutral” climate phase, it may be worth participating in this program.  The program provides in depth forecasts from a retired NWS Meteorologist of approaching cold air masses and their probability to reach critical temperatures that could harm crops being produced in the region.  Updates related to forecasts are distributed on a restricted telephone connection and e-mail alerts.

Normal registration ends Friday, November 16, 2012 coinciding with the first Weekly Outlook of the season.  Registrations received after November 16 are billed at a higher rate.  Follow the link below for a registration form:

2012 Winter Weather School will take place on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Lake County Ag Center in Tavares.  Follow the link below for the Agenda and Registration information:
