Reminder: Aug 24, 2010 Workshop on Muscadine Grape Enterprises and Harvest

Hello, members and supporters of the SW FL Small Famers Network (SWFSFN).  Hope you are staying cool during these dog days of summer . . . This email  is a friendly reminder of our upcoming Aug 24^th fall grape harvest workshop (see below and flyer).  It'll be a fun event where you can enjoy the seasonal tastes of the fruit of the vine, as well as learn about the alternative enterprises with muscadine grapes.  If interested, please, RSVP your registration and choice of the options described in the flyer ASAP.

Hello, members and supporters of the Southwest FL Small Farmer Network (SWFSFN).  It's my pleasure to send you this announcement (see attachment) of a workshop on muscadine grapes enterprises/ harvest (see attachment).  It is being conducted by the Manasota chapter of the FL Grape Growers Association (FGGA).  It's another opportunity to learn how to initiate grape growing enterprises into your diversified small farming operation. 

 

As you'll  notice in the workshop announcement, we are including some fun activities to take advantage of the harvest season for muscadine grapes (e.g., grape tastings and wine making).  We have invited Sue Kolze from the In The Spirits Shop in Bradenton to lead a hands-on winemaking workshop as a follow-up to her verbal presentation at the July workshop on grape propagation.  To this end, we have put together an affordable price of $35 for a complete winemaking kit plus muscadine grapes from Antonio Fiorelli's vineyard.
