Getting rid of cattle fever ticks:
ARS researchers have developed two strategies to ward off cattle fever ticks-the ones that transmit deadly Texas cattle fever, also known as bovine babesiosis-that are crossing the border from Mexico into the United States. (11/2)

Psyllids getting their IDs checked:
At least six psyllid species have been found in the citrus-growing areas of the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, according to an ARS scientist who is working to control the spread of the psyllid-transmitted citrus greening disease. (11/3)

From nuisance weed to potential biofuels superstar:
A common roadside plant could have the right stuff to become a new source of biofuel, according to ARS scientists who have found that field pennycress produces impressive quantities of oil-rich seeds, plus other advantages that eventually could win it "star status" in the world of biodiesel. (11/4)
