Feb 7th Meeting of SWFSFN at RoyalTila Tropical Fish Farm in Punta Gorda

To all members and supporters of the SW FL Small Farmer Network (SWFSFN), I’m sending you this friendly reminder of our upcoming Feb 7th meeting in Punta Gorda – see email below for details . . .

I also want to announce that we will have a guest Extension speaker, i.e., John Alleyne of Highlands County Extension.  John will give a short report of his field trials of alternative biofuel crops and extend an invitation to everyone to his upcoming Monday, Feb 14th field day.   Pertaining to this topic, we invite you to also review the presentations from the 2010 Small Farms & Alternative Enterprises Conference on this topic – see http://smallfarms.ifas.ufl.edu/floridasmallfarmsconference/postconference/2010/presentations/alternative_enterprises/M.Morris_ROU.pdf  (especially slides 37 to 52).

We hope John’s presentation will revive the past discussions in SWFSFN for some onfarm trials and a cooperative formation in alternative fuels production to meet your small farming needs and goals.

Thanks to everyone who has already RSVP for the meeting,

robert
