Help Restore Funding for ATTRA Dear Mary:
Congress will shortly be making decisions on the 2012 federal budget. You can influence that decision-making and save the critically-important Appropriate Technology Transfer for Rural Areas - ATTRA - project that provides information and technical assistance services to farmers, ranchers and agricultural producers. Many programs authorized in the 2008 Farm Bill, including ATTRA, were drastically cut or eliminated in the final 2011 federal budget. Congress is considering the 2011 federal budget as the baseline for negotiations on the 2012 budget. That would mean zero funding for ATTRA in 2012.
We need Congress to restore funding to ATTRA in the 2012 federal budget. Restoring funding for ATTRA insures we can help rural communities create sustainable economies that produce healthy foods and protect our natural resources.
We need your help. Please tell your legislator in the U.S. House to return funding for ATTRA to the federal budget. Please take a moment right now to email your Representative in support of this vital program. It's easy - just click the button below.
Please take action by May 13, 2011.
We thank you for your assistance and concern. Warm regards,
Kathy Hadley Executive Director NOTE: Do not use your email program to forward this message to others as it has been personalized with your account information. To spread the word about this issue, please use the "Forward to a friend" link above.
