WATER RESOURCES MANAGER

(Policy & Planning)

Salary Range $65,079 - $106,730 per year (doq)

 

Requires Master's Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Geology, Hydrology, Engineering or related field; AND six (6) years experience in programs related to water quantity and quality, water resources planning or management, including four (4) years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Candidates with a Ph.D. in Biology, Ecology, Hydrology, or a related field preferred.

 

Position is a senior-level supervisory position responsible for overseeing development and administration of water resource policy, planning, conservation and management programs and projects. Work involves assisting Division Director, supervision of administrative personnel, providing legislative review, participation in countywide coordination of policy recommendations and staffing of boards and committees. Must have excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing. Position requires a demonstrated ability to effectively present information before diverse audiences, frequent presentations, and skill in generating consensus and fostering collaborative efforts. Critical thinking and hands-on project management are essential. Knowledge of computer modeling and interpretation is preferred. Experience in budget and contract management is also desirable.
