Honey Bee Research adn Extension Lab Annual 4-H Essay Contest.

Each year, the UF HBREL organizes the Florida 4-H Honey Bee Essay Contest. The contest is a national competition offered by the Foundation for The Preservation of Honey Bees, Inc., but only the best essay in each state moves on to compete in the national running. The Official UF HBREL Essay Committee will determine the top three essays in Florida and send the first-ranked winner on to the national competition.

I will be responsible for collecting all essays for the state of Florida. I encourage you to pass on this email to anyone that may  work with 4-H children, so that they may have the chance to participate.  The attached PDF has the topic, official rules, etc. All essays are due to me by Monday, February 20th and I will submit winner to the Foundation by March 1st. We also publish the winning essay on the front cover our lab’s quarterly newsletter, the Melitto Files, so there is much to earn by submitting!

Here is a link to our website which re-states all the rules: http://entnemdept.ufl.edu/honeybee/extension/4H.shtml

Thanks in advance for your help, please email me if you have any questions.
