Hello, members and supporters of the SW FL Small Farmers Network (SWFSFN).  We are pleased to share with you the announcement of an organic farming workshop on April 2, 2014 at Jessica’s Organic Farm in Sarasota County – see flyer below.  The workshop will provide practical information and advice about sustainable/organic farming methods, such as soil and weed management, marketing, building community farm support, cover crops and farm planning, and organic certification. The workshop is designed for beginning and new farmers, as well as those interested in transitioning to organic.

FYI - Bill Pischer of Jessica’s Organic Farm has been successfully farming as a certified organic farm for over 30 years.  If you are interested in organic food farming, this is a workshop that you do not want to miss.

Please, follow the instructions from the organizer of this workshop, i.e., FL Organic Growers (FOG), for registration.  Admission is $20 and includes lunch. Go to www.foginfo.org/organic-farming-workshop-registration-form to register today. Scholarships are available please email Travis@foginfo.org for more information.

Also, please, forward this email to your fellow farmers and associates who may be interested in attending this workshop.  In case they are not familiar with SWFSFN, also let them know of our SWFSFN website for small farmer networking and announcements at https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/SW_FL_Small_Farms/info
