Tomorrow! April 22: Core and Private Applicator Training and Exams

Core 8:30am-10:35am, Private 10:35am-12:40pm, Manatee County Agriculture and Extension Service, Palmetto, FL.

Two separate exam prep classes will be held to help you prepare for the Core and Private Applicator RUP license exams. Exams will be offered immediately following the classes. However, you do not have to take the exams the same day.  You may schedule a time to take the exams at your convenience.  You may take one class without the other, if needed.

 

If you are already a license holder, 2.5 CEUs in Core and 2.5 in Private are offered for both classes, respectively. Light snacks will be offered. For details and registration visit. Walk in will be welcomed.  The class fee is $15 per class. Please bring a cash or a check made out to “Manatee County Friends of Extension.”

 

April 28: Vegetable Cost Share and Water/Nutrient Management Workshop, GCREC, 1:00pm-4:00pm. Please see the attached agenda.  CCA credits pending. Please RSVP to Crystal at crys21@ufl.edu or (941)722-4524

 

April 29: Vegetable Grafting Workshop, Suwanee Valley Agricultural Extension Center, Live Oak, FL., 9:00am-4:30pm. Please see attached agenda and registration information.

 

April 30: Spring Vegetable Field Day, UF/IFAS SWFREC, Immokalee, FL. Please see the attached agenda for details.

 

May 1: Growers Fumigation Meeting, GCREC, 9:00am- TBA. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss available fumigation products, field research studies, the next round of fumigant re-registration and to review internet based training programs used to acquire product certification training.   Please keep in mind that this is not a certification training and no tests will be administered.  Lunch will be provided courtesy of Jerry Nance, Dow AgroSciences and Mike Herrington, AMVAC.

May 14-15: Frontiers of Sustainable Agriculture, Plant Science Research and Education Center, Citra, FL. Please see the attachment for details.

 

May 29-30: Manatee County Water School, Manatee County Agriculture and Extension Service, Palmetto, FL.

Past topics include: A Past & Present Look at Local Water Supplies, Water Quality Issues, Public Policy & Civil Engagement, Social Marketing, and Public Perception & Use. Day 2 includes an educational tour highlighting local water resources.  Please see the attached flyer.
