Bureau of Economic and Business Research Survey Design and Info for Local Governments

Good afternoon:

A few weeks ago I contacted you about the next Gateway presentation. We finalized a date for our breakfast meeting with representatives from the Bureau of Economic and Business Research, and it is Monday, May 17 from 7:30-8:30  a.m. at the Extension Office. We will provide a continental-type breakfast and coffee/juice. The presentation will be given via Polycom distance conferencing. All 11 county governments in the South Central region of the state will be participating, and we are inviting our county managers’ offices, purchasing departments, planning departments and others to participate. I will also forward to our local municipalities.

Attached is a flyer for the meeting, as well as a sampling of past surveys by BEBR. You may also want to glance at their website, http://www.bebr.ufl.edu for the following:

·         Offerings from individual units within BEBR: http://www.bebr.ufl.edu/about

·         Free Data: http://www.bebr.ufl.edu/free/data

·         Publications Store:  http://www.bebr.ufl.edu/publications/list

In speaking with other county Extension directors in Tampa Bay, there are county government units utilizing BEBR services, and perhaps there are opportunities for Polk as well.

I would like to forward this information to other division and department directors, as appropriate. Do you have suggestions for whom to target?

Thanks for your time, and I hope you can attend the breakfast on May 17,

Nicole
