First Annual Entomology Field Camp

The UF/IFAS Entomology and Nematology Department will be holding its first annual Entomology Field Camp from June 21-25, 2010. Camp is open to  6th-8th graders interested in science. The first class is limited to 25 students, and is the introductory camp for what will eventually be three levels of camp for students into upper level high school. This is a day camp, so campers will need to be dropped off and picked up each day.

For five days, attendees will participate in numerous entomological laboratory and field investigations, and have close interaction with Entomology and Nematology faculty and students. All supervisors meet UF requirements for activities with minors. Cost is $175 dollars per camper, which includes all supplies, admission costs for field trips, prizes and t-shirts.

Many great activities are planned, so check out our schedule and other details at:

We will also be hosting up to five extension agents at no charge that would like to observe. If you are interested, please email Rebecca Baldwin at baldwinr@ufl.edu.
