Southern SARE offers scholarships to mentor farmers, Extension Agents, and NGO representatives to attend a conference promoting sustainable agriculture. A limited number of scholarships are available. Please see the attached applications for details. Note that there is one application for mentor farmers and a separate application for extension faculty and NGO representatives. Scholarship funds must be used prior to February 28, 2012.
Scholarships can be used towards the Southern Sustainable Agriculture Working Group Annual Conference in Little Rock, Arkansas at the Peabody Hotel, January 18-22 or any other conference promoting sustainable agriculture. The SSAWG conference is a great opportunity to learn about ways to improve the sustainability of farming operations and network with other sustainable farmers in the Southeast. Check out the full conference program here. For other conference ideas, check the Florida SARE website.
Applications are due to me by November 7. Late applications will not be considered. All applicants will be notified of their scholarship status by November 18.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me via email at kmon913@ufl.edu or by phone at 352-273-2508.
